Kalispell RRT Organized A Thanksgiving Food Drive For The Samaritan House
Kalispell RRT volunteers organized a Thanksgiving food drive for the local Samaritan House. The team collected canned food, turkeys, baking goods, etc.. from the community and delivered this food on November 23, 2017. The Samaritan House is a homeless shelter and transitional living program in Kalispell, Montana. The mission of the Samaritan House is to provide shelter and basic needs for homeless people, while fostering self-respect and human dignity. A motto that is used by this foundation is “homeless not hopeless”.
The food provided by the Kalispell Rapid Relief Team was enough food so the 50 residents that are currently cared for by this organization were able enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving dinner!
The beautiful city of Kalispell is the largest in Northwest Montana, and the Samaritan House is the only shelter in the Flathead Valley region. This facility offers a veteran program that provides affordable housing and the resources to care for them physically and mentally which has benefited many veterans in this region suffering from disability and hardships.
The Samaritan House is a non-profit organization. Therefore, the foundation depends a lot on fund raising for the financial support needed to sustain the facility and programs that it offers. This organization has set a goal to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
One of the residents experienced the direct benefit that the Rapid Relief Team can afford by getting his vehicle jump started by one of the RRT volunteers!
Unloaded And Ready To Leave.
Thank You From The Samaritan House.
