Columbus RRT Provides A Meal At Ronald McDonald House On February 13

The Ronald McDonald House in Central Ohio is a home away from home for families of seriously ill children being treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and other area hospitals. When a child is hospitalized it can be one of the most stressful experiences a family can endure and having the comfort of loved ones nearby is beyond measure. For 3 years, Ronald McDonald House has been providing a bit of stability in these challenging times and the friendly, inviting atmosphere gives the residents a level of relaxation.

The RMH in Central Ohio is the largest in the world. It is made up by 120,000 square feet of space and 137 guest rooms. Each guest room has 2 double beds and a private bathroom. This home also has a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area, play rooms, laundry facilities, an exercise room, a theater and many informal gathering areas. Additional free services like massages, haircuts, and other stress-relieving activities are also available on a semi-regular basis. All these services are provided by generous donors from the community.
Grilling hamburgersHome-cooked dinners are served regularly to the guests by generous volunteers and on February 13, 2018, the Rapid Relief Team was happy to provide one of these meals. RRT volunteers used the house kitchen to prepare and serve a signature BBQ meal which included hamburgers, brats, condiments, and fruit, as well as a choice between chocolate or vanilla cake topped with whip cream and strawberries for dessert!
