RRT brings Christmas cheer around the world
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has donated over 5,500 Christmas Food Boxes to families in need around the world just in time for the holiday season. RRT volunteers across the globe geared up to package and deliver essential supplies which aimed to help relieve immediate pressure for an individual or family in crisis. Packaged with care and compassion, the Food Boxes contain a variety of non-perishable, long-life food.
Designed to feed a family of four for up to two days, the Food Boxes include some Christmas favorites including honey baked ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and a Chocolate Cake.
RRT General Manager for North America, Earl Gracey said the RRT Christmas Food Box initiative was simply about bringing families together for Christmas.
“We know many families do it tough at Christmas – but add in the financial impacts and stresses of COVID-19 and this year it seems a whole lot tougher,” Earl said.
2020 has been a challenging year for all, regardless of wealth, health, or status. “In the United States, we are still faced with ongoing lockdowns and rising cases along with increased food insecurity”.
We are committed to supporting as many families as we can, to put some food on the table, and spread a bit of Christmas cheer.
“As Christians, family is very important to us, and we want to do what we can to help bring families together,” he said.
So far this year, the RRT Food Box initiative has supported those in self-quarantine, vulnerable families, and victims of domestic violence by donating and delivering over 35,000 RRT Food Boxes globally. RRT feels thrilled to bring joy this holiday season to those who have been hardest hit by the global pandemic through RRT’s Christmas edition of the Food Box.
