School Stationery Program

Many New Zealand schools and families cannot afford basic stationery for their children to learn at school, which is essential in preparing them for their future.

After wanting to do more for the young and less fortunate people of New Zealand, RRT along with Qizzle come up with the idea to provide the essential stationery items for children in need.

School stationery and art supplies are an integral part of learning for students, they can’t properly learn without it. Unfortunately, the cost of stationery can sometimes be prohibitive for families.

This initiative was rolled out at the start of School term 2020. RRT are passionate and committed to the education of young New Zealanders and are looking forward to supporting this program again in years to come.

“The money we will save because of your subsidy for stationery packs will literally mean that our many disadvantaged children can be "like everyone else" and have everything they'll need for the whole year! A direct result of your generosity to us, will mean that NONE of our children will miss out. In fact, they will ALL have a fantastic start to the 2024 school year!”

One of the challenges the school faces is that not everyone has the ability to pay for everything that makes coming to school as easy as in other areas. Juda Rasmussen of Otaki College says, “The classroom situation was awesome too because every kid in the class started with a stationery pack this year.”

students across 94 different schools have benefited since 2020

New River School & Middle School

Students from New River School and Middle School were all given the same opportunity for their education when they received their stationery packs. Nicky De Ruyter, New River School Principal, said “We can not be more grateful for what RRT has done for our children, done for our school. Our children have just thrived because of it.”

Timaru South School

The stationery supplies were received eagerly by the kids at Timaru South School. Brandon Payne, Headmaster, said “I just would like to thank RRT and Qizzle for their sponsorship this year, it’s great we can get the support which reduces the barriers for the kids and their learning, so they’ve got everything they need to get on their way”.

Sunset Primary School

Essential stationery items are provided on day one to ensure each student starts school ready to learn. Principal of Sunset Primary School Eden Chapman said “It means every kid starts on the same footing and just creates an environment where nobody has to feel uneasy about coming to school.”

Manurewa West Primary School

They receive funding from the government; however, the demands are more than what they receive. Manurewa West Primary School Deputy Principal, Komal Singh said “every little assistance we get goes a long way helping our school community.”
