RRT Stands Alongside Papakura Coastguard
Papakura Volunteer Coastguard is there for boaties when conditions turn and things go wrong on the Manukau Harbour and over the Bar. Their crew can be called out at any hour, and they operate across a wide patch of coastline — south to Raglan Harbour, west offshore to 12 nautical miles, and north to the southern side of Kaipara Harbour.
They’re also an active Civil Defence resource, able to provide both maritime and land support during incidents and emergencies. Behind every callout is a dedicated team of highly trained volunteers delivering a 24/7, unconditional search and rescue capability that helps bring people home safely.
Since 2019, RRT has been supporting Papakura Volunteer Coastguard through ongoing sponsorship that contributes to the practical things that help get the boat on the water when it matters. That support helps cover important running costs and essentials the crew rely on, including equipment and safety gear such as clothing and PPE, so volunteers can operate safely and effectively.
It’s the everyday, behind-the-scenes resources that doesn’t get talked about much, but it’s what helps keep volunteers protected, ready, and able to respond without hesitation when someone needs help.
We’re grateful for the volunteers who give their time and expertise to serve our communities. RRT is honoured to stand alongside Papakura Volunteer Coastguard and support the life-saving work they do, every day of the year.
