Omaha RRT Supports Arthritis Foundation’s 2017 Jingle Bell Run And Walk

On a brisk Saturday morning, December 10th at 7:00 a.m., RRT Omaha gathered at the Strategic Air Command Museum to assist the 2016 annual Jingle Bell Run for the Arthritis Foundation. Arthritis is an informal name in reference to more than 100 types of joint diseases. The Arthritis Foundation works with science to find a cure for this disease that inflicts over 53 million adults and 300,000 children in American. This is a family friendly holiday themed event. Many participants dressed in holiday style with jingle bells on their laces joined their efforts and raised over $28,000 towards the support of this organization.
Setting up the starting pointThis year, the volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team from Omaha were able to provide assistance to between 250 and 300 eager participants. The first task assigned was to assemble signs and distribute them along the route. The team was also responsible to set up and prepare for the meal that was to be served after the event.

The run started at 9:00 a.m. and lasted until about 10:30 a.m. The route started at SAC Museum, went across their parking lot and then crossed into Mahoney State Park following the trail for about 5K and ended back in the SAC Museum parking lot.

Crossing guards were also at all crosswalks to ensure the safety of each participant.
Cleaning up after the eventAfter a quick meal for the runners the event came to a close. All volunteers then began the clean-up process and the event was wrapped up around 11:30. Thanks everyone for your time and effort!
