RRT Food Boxes
Working with people in crisis is at the heart of what we do at the Rapid Relief Team (RRT), and in 2019, we launched an innovative initiative, RRT Food Boxes, to provide immediate relief when it is needed most.
After wanting to do more for families and individuals affected by domestic violence, RRT designed the Food Box which provides emergency food supplies to people and families in need.
The RRT Food Box, which contains a variety of non-perishable, long-life food, has grown to support people affected by COVID-19, people from low socio-economic backgrounds, and those in crisis. One Food Box can last a family of four for up to 48 hours, giving them time and space to find sustainable, ongoing support.
RRT collaborates with local Welfare Support Groups, and grassroots organisations to donate and deliver the Food Boxes to those who need it the most throughout Australia.
