RRT Serves A Meal At The Agape Table Soup Kitchen

While many of us take 3 meals per day as granted, to other people in the world it’s a real struggle to find enough food to keep going each day. The RRT team in Winnipeg/Stonewall/Woodlands were recently privileged to assist the many people facing this struggle.

On August 19, 2017, the RRT Team offered a hot meal of hamburgers and hot-dogs, fruit, cookies, and water to those who normally rely on the Agape Table soup kitchen for some of their nourishment. About 400 meals were provided in total, and it was a rewarding experience for the members of the RRT team to bring a smile and cheer to so many people’s faces.

The Agape Kitchen is a non-profit organization who provides breakfast from Monday-Friday to those in need. They also provide a low cost grocery store to makes sure they receive nourishing food for those who can’t afford to pay regular grocery store rates. It was a great privilege for RRT to work along with the organization and be able to step in to relieve this pressure for a day in the lives of so many less-fortunate people.

Whether it’s cooking the meat, chopping up fruit, handing out water bottles, or serving up the food to those in need, regardless of the task – every person was instrumental in making events like this happen. This is true wherever many millions of people donate their time and services, whether it be at RRT, Agape Kitchen, or another one of the thousand volunteer organizations doing such a great service – one thing is true – it’s all about teamwork and caring for others.

In all, it was an excellent way to spend a day and the heartfelt thanks from the recipients was truly appreciated. The RRT team is looking forward to more of these events in the future!
