Harrogate Homeless Project is a local charity dedicated to supporting homeless people in Harrogate. The RRT are pleased to be assisting them today.

Harrogate Homeless Project is run by a team of committed individuals who want to make sure that homeless people have the strategies, support and services that are needed to begin the difficult journey back to truly independent living. They run a 24 hour homeless hostel which houses 16 people and also provides an emergency refuge for rough sleepers.

They offer support to homeless people from all walks of life – irrespective of background, history or special needs, with the focus being on helping people to achieve sustainable independence.

The charity also runs a day service called Springboard in Harrogate town centre, providing activities, shower facilities, and support workers who can give homeless people the help and advice that they need.

They also provides two meals a day for around 40 to 50 homeless persons, and the Harrogate RRT are pleased to be here helping Springboard today.

We set up our marquee shelters and our cooking facilities earlier this morning, and have just been cooking a full burger lunch for the homeless people and the Springboard staff. The food smells great, and by the smiles on everyone’s faces they certainly seem to be enjoying it! We will also be providing snacks and hot drinks shortly.

We have also donated 30 RRT sleeping bags today.

It has been a privilege to work alongside the dedicated volunteers at Springboard, and to support them in the excellent service they provide to those in need in Harrogate.
