On September 19, 2015 a Walk to Defeat ALS Association Event (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) was held in Rochester, NY at scenic Ontario Beach Park.  The event began with a moving speech from an ALS board member who suffers from the Lou Gehrig’s disease.   Approximately 480 participants supported the 1 mile walk along with quite a few people afflicted with the Lou Gehrig’s disease.

It was more than just a mile journey; the Walk to Defeat ALS is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, to raise money for a cure, and to come together for something people care about.

The Rochester Team assisted the ALS event coordinators by setting up tents, tables, signs and banners on the premises.  The RRT Refreshments Tent was the only source of hydration along the walk; offering water and light refreshments.

In addition to the beautiful weather the day was a splendid success with the goal of $80,000 being surpassed with a total amount raised of $94,000.  What a big step towards a cure!
