RRT has collaborated with DFL Importers to deliver hope and relief to the Jamaican community affected by COVID-19, donating 200 new hospital beds and mattresses to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The hospital beds and mattresses, which were purchased by DFL Importers for $20,000 USD, and imported from North America by RRT for $6,000 USD, were donated to local hospitals in April as COVID-19 cases were peaking in Jamaica.

RRT’s General Manager in the Caribbean, Mark DeCasseres, says this donation will assist in the fight against the pandemic in Jamaica.

“As the Jamaican community feels our way through the COVID-19 crisis, every little bit of support helps, and these hospital beds will take the pressure off local health services, enabling hospitals to comfortably care for more patients,”

“While COVID-19 cases are on the decline here in Jamaica, it is important we continue to support out local community wherever can,”

“This donation, made possible by DFL Importers, is just one way RRT has assisted the local community, and we’re humbled to show care, compassion and support to those impacted by the pandemic in this tangible way,” Mark said.

Since the start of the pandemic, RRT volunteers across the Caribbean have came to the aid of those impacted by COVID-19, donating 4,500 Food Boxes to people in need throughout 2020.
